Get ready for 2019 Lighthouse Blues Festival

The 2019 Lighthouse Blues Festival July 12-14 is only days away. This will be the festival’s 10th anniversary.
This year’s festival features Grammy nominated Danielle Nicole, Larry McCray, David Rotundo, Chicago slide guitar queen Joanna Connor, Samantha Martin and many more top performers.
One popular part of the three-day festival is the BIA Street Festival on Saturday, July 13, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Queen Street. The event attracts 3-4,000 people, providing an excellent opportunity for downtown retailers to showcase and sell their products.
This year, the Lighthouse Blues Festival has increased the budget for the Street Festival to add more entertainment. There’ll be a new electric stage in front of Bar Down featuring five artists and some family-friendly attractions.
Retailers located outside the downtown area can still participate by calling the BIA and arranging for a convenient spot.
For the fifth year in a row, Festivals and Events Ontario has named the Lighthouse Blues Festival a Top 100 Festival. The FEO stated, “Your festival stood out from almost 1,200 individual festivals and events in Ontario … that were eligible to apply for this prestigious award. You are now in the company of renowned festivals and events who meet a standard of excellence in the province of Ontario … congratulations on being named a 2019 Top 100 Festival and Event in Ontario.”
Only two other blues festivals made the list this year. Both have much larger budgets. The local festival stood out because of its excellence and professionalism.
