Doug Kennedy thanked at Silver Stick Tournament

The 33rd annual Kincardine Regional Silver Stick Tournament was held at the Davidson Centre and Tiverton Arena from Dec. 27, until the championship games held on Dec. 30. During the opening ceremonies, after being piped in by members of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, tournament director Kyle Boulton thanked event sponsors and the Municipality for their ongoing support. During the ceremony, Boulton asked long-time hockey supporter Doug Kennedy to join players Myles Courtney from the Kincardine Kinucks and Ethan Smith from the Walkerton Capitals on the ice, and drop the ceremonial first puck. Kennedy is known as the face of the Bulldogs and is very involved with Kincardine Minor hockey. Kennedy also writes a weekly sports column for The Kincardine Independent. (Tammy Schneider photo)
