AMANDA FULLERTON (Jan. 22, 1929 – Feb. 19, 2013)

Amanda Johnstone Fullerton, of Kincardine and formerly of Walkerton, passed away peacefully at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow on Feb. 19, 2013.

Missed greatly by her beloved husband of 65 years, Jack; by her sons Brian (Lolly), David (Marrie) and John; by her grandchildren Andrew (Melissa), Nick, Sarah (Shaun Grant), Meaghan, Miranda, Brianna, Olivia and Kevin; and by her great grandchild Maya. 

Daughter of J.P. Johnstone and Nellie Reid.

She is survived by her sisters Marguerite Fischer-Seip and Betty Knox, and by her sister-in-law Shirley Johnstone.

She was predeceased by her brother Jack Johnstone and grandson Jody Fullerton.

MICHAEL BLACKETT

Michael Blackett, of Lucknow and formerly of Ripley, passed away at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the age of 74.

He was born in Kincardine on Jan. 22, 1939 to the late Vera (Roach) and John Blackett.

Left to be remembered by his wife Beverley; son Jim (Marta) Blackett, of Hamilton; daughters Sherry and Lee Ann Blackett, both of Bothwell; step-daughter Debby Strong, of Windsor; grandchildren: Eric, Brett, Cole, Kelsey, Cody, Sara, Rob and Kitt; step-grandchildren Jessie and Sammy; and one great-granddaughter Amara.

Predeceased by his sister Laura Mae Hayes and son Tom.

A memorial service was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, 12 Queen Street, Ripley N0G 2R0 on Thursday Feb. 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Perry Chuipka officiating.  A Legion service was held prior.

Spring Interment Ripley Cemetery.

ALMA HUSTON

Alma Huston (Culbert), beloved wife of the late Glenn Huston, formerly of Kincardine and Huron Township, passed away at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital, Goderich, on Sunday Feb. 3, 2013, in her 83rd year.

She was born in West Wawanosh Township, on Dec. 16, 1930 to the late Blanche (Caldwell) and Nelson Culbert.

Survived by her children: Jean (Roland) Rossiar, of Kitchener; Brian (Carol) Huston, of Strathroy; and Donald (Sheila) Huston, of Kincardine.

Also greatly missed by grandchildren: Jessica, Lauren, Erin, Anne-Marie, Amy, Stacy and Corbin; great grandchildren: Kyla, Macy, Nathan, Bree, Chloe and Tristan; brother Harold Culbert, of Dungannon; sisters Doreen (Don) McNeil, of St. Thomas, and Joyce Tait, of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Eileen Rife (Huston); and by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

BRYCE SMALL

Bryce John Small, of Kincardine and a 30-year member of the Kincardine Fire Department, passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in his 56th year.

Dear father of Brandon and Ryan.

Beloved husband of Patty Beckberger-Small, of Kincardine.

Loved brother of Blair (Lori) Small, of Kincardine. Sadly missed by his nephews: Jason and Tyler Small, and Derrick and Gary Moulton. 

Predeceased by his parents, Bud and Isabelle (Moulton) Small; his brother Lyle Moulton; his sister-in-law Marilyn Moulton; and his niece Andrea Moulton.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, from 2-4 and 7 -9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.

HAZEL DAHMER

Hazel  Irene Dahmer, formerly of Kincardine, died at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, at the age of 95.

Hazel was born in Kincardine Township on Sept. 6, 1917 to the late Elsie (Morrison) and Peter Dahmer.

She is predeceased by her sister Elizabeth “Acie” Blake and her brother Hugh Morrison Dahmer.  Visitation was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley on Jan. 30, 2013 for one hour prior to the funeral service which was conducted at 11 a.m.

Interment Ripley Cemetery.

JOHN BAYLEY

John Edgar Bayley, of Corunna and formerly of Kincardine, died at the Bluewater Health in Sarnia on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in his 66th year.

Beloved spouse of Catherine Van Bastelaar.

Loving father of Gill Bayley, of Ottawa.

Fondly remembered by his brother, David Bayley, of Cambridge.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at  1p.m. with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating.

Interment Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.

MARION GILLESPIE

Marion Gillespie, of Holyrood, passed away on Jan. 8, 2013 at Wingham Hospital at the age of 81.

Marion was born Aug. 20, 1931 in Ashfield Township to the late Alberta (Miller) and Daniel Nicholson.

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Gillespie for over 58 years until his death in 2012.

Dear mother of Ron (Susan) Gillespie, and Cathy (Andrew) Page, all of R.R. 1, Holyrood.

She will be missed by her grandchildren: Dave (Kate) Gillespie, Angie (Dan) Davey, Jamie Page, and Tyler Page, and by her great-grandson Lyndon Gillespie.

Survived by sisters Isabel (Jim) Hunter, of Lucknow; and Donalda Smith, of Mississauga; and by brother Ken (Joyce) Nicholson, of Alliston; and in-laws Betty and Don Bushell.

FRANCES EDWARDS

Frances Jean Edwards (née Cabeldu), former resident of Deep River, died peacefully Jan. 2, 2013, at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, in her 89th year.

Predeceased by her sister Marion Casselman, her husband George Robert Edwards, and her companion Edward Rosseau.

Fran leaves behind her son Bruce and wife Carol; son David and wife Lorraine; and daughter Evelyn and husband Gerald Gowan. She was the doting grandmother of Jamie (Shannon), Leanne, Rob (Shannon), Mclean (Dawn), and Alastair. She was the proud great-grandmother of Wilhem, Kasey, Brooklyn, and Molly.

She will be missed by her nieces and nephews who shared a large part of her life.

FRANK ABELA

Frank Abela, beloved husband of Stephanee Abela, of Ripley, passed away at Kincardine Hospital on Dec. 9, 2012, at the age of 60.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on Dec. 7, 1952 to the late Alice and Lewis Abela.

Dear father of Vanessa (Aneez) Abela-Kanji, of England; and Iain (Melissa) Abela, of LaSalle.

Also greatly missed by grandson Isaac Kanji, brother Paul (Ann-Marie) Abela and nephew Anthony Abela, of Eastpointe, Michigan.

A celebration of Frank’s life was held for family and friends, on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the Bruce Steakhouse in Kincardine.

HAROLD LEWIS

Harold Edward Lewis, of Kincardine and a veteran of the Second World War, died at the Kincardine Hospital on Nov. 27, 2012, at the age of 92.

He was the beloved husband of Roxcena (McTeer),who predeceased him in 1995.

Dear father of Bevan, and wife Nancy, of R.R. 5, Kincardine.

Missed by his grandchildren: Stephen and Angeles.

Survived by his brother Glenn, of Bervie; and by his in-laws Austin (Winnie) McTeer, of Paisley; Russell McTeer, of Elora; Dorothy Rea, of Port Elgin; and Arlene McTeer, formerly of Paisley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
