Joseph Benjamin “Joe” Blanchard of Windsor, Nova Scotia and formerly of Ellershouse passed away at Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial Building, QEII, in Halifax, with his family by his side on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at age 89.

Born in Milford, Hants County on March 30, 1926, he was the eldest child of S. Shelburne and Florence (MacDonald) Blanchard.

In the early thirties, he and his family moved to Ellerhouse. Joe went to school in Ellerhouse and at Windsor Academy. In 1943, he joined the Canadian Army as a Boy Soldier. When he became of legal age, he joined the Army’s Royal Canadian Regiment and saw service in Canada. He was discharged in the early 1950s. After a few years as a civilian, he rejoined with RCEME for another six years, being discharged in 1961. Upon discharge, he worked for various companies, finally retiring from Ontario Hydro.

Marjorie Alexia (née McLeod) Campbell of Kincardine, passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of the late Clarence Campbell and Clifford McKay. Dear mother of Harvey (Beth) McKay of R.R. #5, Kincardine, Lillian (John) Crowe of Blairs Grove, Aileen McKay of Kincardine, Rodney (Sharon) McKay of Kincardine, Dorne (Ruth) McKay of Kincardine, and Donald McKay of Newcastle. Loved step-mother of Bert (Jo-Anne) Campbell of London, Beth Campbell of Barrie, the late Bruce Campbell and the late Margaret Smith.  Survived by her step-son-in-law Ron Smith of London and step-daughter-in-law Margaret Campbell of London.

Cherished grandmother of 25 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother-in-law Angus Jr. and Audrey McKay of Kincardine and her sister-in-law Mildred Bonnett of Kincardine.

In Memory of Scott Crellin Bailey.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Bailey of Kincardine in his 75th year, surrounded by those dearest to him at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015.

Scott was the son of Sgt. James M. Bailey (lost in the Second World War), Eileen Deeley (his mother, deceased) and Charles Deeley (his step-father, deceased).

He will be fondly remembered by his family: Penny, his son Tim (of whom Scott was so proud) and his lovely grandson Liam.

He will be missed by his relatives and many dear, life-long friends, including all of his friends at the Knotty Pine Restaurant, the Davidson Centre and many more.

Arthur E. Ball of Listowel and formerly of the Kincardine area passed away at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, in his 84th year.

Beloved husband of Norma R. (Veal) Ball.

Dear father of Brenda & Danny Maillet of Brantford, John & Carolyn Ball of Ripley, Elizabeth & Mark Norman of Listowel and Brian Ball of London.

Fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Scott Barham & Stephanie Kerry, Jordan & Jacquelyn Ball, Kyla & Brent Kempton, Benjamin Norman, Taylor Norman and Kaitlyn Norman, and by his great-grandchildren: Gaige Kempton & Lennon Barham. Fondly remembered by Scott’s dad, Bob Barham.

Beloved wife of the late Innis MacSween.


Dear mother of Rod (Wendy) MacSween of Kincardine and Darlene MacSween (Mike Holunga) of Santa Clara, California.


Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Suzanne (Peter) Hallay, Scott (Carmen) MacSween, Taryn Dellannoy and Danielle Dellannoy and by her great-grandchildren: Mason, Max, Ivy, Carter, Kalista, Kyle and Giuseppe.

Anita Faye Flynn (née Shannon) of Kincardine passed away suddenly at her residence on Aug. 15, 2015, in her 61st year.


Beloved spouse of David Goheen and the late Edward Flynn (2009).


Beloved mother of Leona (Denver) Lawrence of Kincardine and the late Andrew Flynn (2014). Cherished by her grandchildren Raymond and Alexander Angus.


Missed by her brothers Peter Shannon, Byll Shannon and her sister Carol (Lawrence) Pallen. Also missed by her step-daughter Christina Goheen.

Jimmy Felix Buttee passed away suddenly at his residence in Kincardine on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, in his 68th year.

Predeceased by his parents, Jim (1984) and Joan (2009).

Survived by his brother Kim Buttee, Lisa Izso, nephew Eric Izso of Point Clark; sister Patti Huber, husband Murray of Petersburg, beloved nephew Matthew Huber and  Krysti Bouttell of Bright.

Jim was a kind-hearted man who will be fondly remembered for his amazing sense of humour, thoughtfulness and generosity. He enjoyed vintage cars, tennis, gardening and he loved golf!

Cremation has taken place.

Joan Raynor Sutton passed away peacefully on July 29, 2015, at Trillium Court in Kincardine, at the age of 91.

She was born in Nottingham, England on Jan. 10, 1924, to John and Annie Raynor, the younger of two sisters (predeceased by her step-sister Dolly Morris).

After attending local schools she apprenticed as a seamtress and worked for a short period before joining the Land Army at the age of 19. Then, while she was in Ashford, Kent, she met her future husband Glenville (Glenn) Harvey Sutton, who was in  the Canadian Army. They were married in Nottingham on Jan. 17, 1946.

Marion Keyzona Husk, formerly of Kincardine, passed away at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in her 76th year.

Loved sister of Janet (Wray) McConnell of R.R. #5, Kincardine; Aileen (Ron) Beninger of Kitchener; Pat (Harold) Hayes of R.R. #4, Kincardine; Isabell (Norval) McConnell of R.R. #5, Kincardine; Louise Bushell of Kincardine; and Bill Husk of Lucknow.

Sister-in-law of Alice Husk of Kincardine. Also survived by her nephew Tim McConnell of Kincardine Township.

Predeceased by her birth parents Oscar and Emma (Bonnett) Husk, her parents Melvin and Evelyn Husk, her nieces Heather and Angela McConnell, her nephew Brian McConnell, her sister Eva May Husk and her brothers Lloyd and Doug Husk.

DOUGLAS DAVID DYER (Nov.18, 1929 - July 24, 2015)

Douglas David Dyer passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Friday, July 24, 2015,  in his 86th year.

Beloved husband of the late Yvonne Dyer (née Griffiths).

Survived by his sons Mark (Linda) and Alun (Cheryl).  Cherished grandfather of Evan (Alannah Wilson), Jacqueline (J.R.) Beaudrie, Anna (Richard) Blythe.

Predeceased by his parents Evan and Ethel (Lewis) Dyer, his wife Yvonne Dyer, his brother Mervyn Dyer and sister-in-law Mercia Dyer.

Doug was born in Brynna, South Wales. His working career began in the merchant navy after which he spent his working years in the chemical industry working for British Petroleum in Wales and Montreal and also worked overseas in Algeria and Iran.
