DAVID MacLENNAN

David Bruce MacLennan, of R.R. 1, Tiverton, died tragically on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, in his 64th year.

Beloved husband of Rubena MacLennan (née Brindley). 

Dear father of Lori (Steven) Matthews, of Tottenham; and Gerald MacLennan, of Caledon. Cherished grandfather of Erica and Kyler Matthews. 

Loved brother of John (Barbara) MacLennan, of Kitchener; Angus (Nancy) MacLennan, of Sutton; and Beth MacLennan, of Kincardine. Brother-in-law of William Brindley, of R.R.6, Goderich; Gordon (Agnes) Brindley, of Lucknow; Donelda (Wallace) Anson, of Wingham; Kenneth Brindley, of R.R.3, Goderich; Ross (Darlene) Brindley, of R.R.6, Goderich; Helen Brindley, of R.R. 6, Goderich; Norinne Brindley, of Goderich; Bruce (Debra) Brindley, of Goderich; Nancy (Allan) Lemont, of Glammis; Marie (George) Ruetz, of R.R. 3, Mildmay; Mary Ellen Brindley, of Goderich; and John Campbell, of R.R.1, Tiverton. Also sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  

Predeceased by brothers-in-law Robert, Albert and Gerald Brindley. 

Born in Kincardine Township on Oct. 14, 1946 to the late Clarence and  Margaret (Norman) MacLennan, David was raised and lived his entire life on the family farm in Glammis. He was a person who loved kids, people and life.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home (757 Princes Street, Kincardine, ON N2Z 1Z5, 519-396-2701) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, with Rev. Bob Cotie officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Robert MacLennan, Gordon Campbell, Jonathan Brindley, Eric Brindley, Tom Brindley, Mark Lemont, Kevin Anson and Denny O'Neil. Honourary pallbearers were: Don Ferris, Jim Dickson, John Falconer, Gary Colwell and Jim Ferris.

Flower bearers were: Jasmin Schiestel, Keisha Schiestel, Erica Matthews, Kyler Matthews, Vivian Kennedy, Kassandra O'Neil, Ashley Lemont and Sarah Brindley.

DONALD McDONALD

Donald Gordon McDonald, of Kincardine, died at his residence on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, in his 79th year. 

Beloved husband of Marion McDonald (née Park). 

Dear father of Anna (Jake) Smith, of Bruce Township; Laura (Garry) Farrell, of Port Hope; Mark McDonald, of Port Elgin; Peter (Sharon) McDonald, of Kincardine; Jill (Stuart) DeCoste, of Newtonville; and Philip McDonald, of Paisley. Cherished grandpa of Jason, Jenny, Holly, Bethany, Luke, David, Sarah, Patrick, Jessie, Mia, Amber, Braeden, Tara and Tessa; and great-grandpa of Sofia, Kaede and Luke. 

Loved brother of Marjorie Adam, of London; and Bob (Iris) McDonald, of Bracebridge. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Grace McDonald, of Windsor, and Eleanor Sadler, of Parkhill; and by brother-in-law Bob (Carole) Park, of Parkhill. 

 Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Catherine (McLean) McDonald; sisters June (Bill) Furtney and Ellen (Doug) Morgan; brother John McDonald; sister-in-law Marie McDonald; and brother-in-law Don Adam. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home (757 Princes Street, Kincardine, ON  N2Z 1Z5, 519-396-2701) from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009  from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, with Rev. Rob McFadden officiating. Pallbearers were Phil McDonald, Mark McDonald, Jason Smith, Jake Smith, Stuart DeCoste, Garry Farrell, Dave Farrell and Pat Farrell.

ALVA “STORM” POYNTER

Alva "Storm" Poynter  (née MacKenzie), of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in her 89th year. 

She was born July 21, 1921 in Kincardine Township.

Loving friend of Edward Cassidy and his family. Sadly missed by her cousin Derrick Jamieson.  Forever loved by her dog PeeWee. 

Predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Gertrude (née Jamieson) MacKenzie. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, with Rev. Eric Watson officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Kevin, Danny, Eddie, Casey, Darcy and Shane Cassidy.

DANIEL SHAW

Daniel Nelson Shaw, of Kincardine, died at his residence on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, in his 43rd year.

Daniel was born March 29, 1967.

Beloved son of Doris Shaw (née Gillis), of Kincardine, and the late Ronald Shaw. 

 

Dear brother of Janet Shaw, of Kincardine; David (Chantell) Shaw, of Oakwood; and Gary Shaw, of Kincardine. Loved uncle of Alanna, Haley and Mikayla.

Also sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Visitation was held at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, with vigil prayers held at 3:45 p.m. A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Kincardine, on Thursday, Dec. 24, 20009, with Rev. Father Don Wilhelm officiating.

Pallbearers were: Dave and Gary Shaw, Robert Howatt, Rod Husk, Paul Ramsdale, Steve Verbonac, Troy Snobelen, Guy Roy and Bruce Howatt.
