NICHOLAS BONELLO

Nicholas Joseph “Nick” Bonello, of Kincardine and formally of Brantford, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Sakura House in Woodstock on Dec.29, 2009, in his 85th year. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Bonello (Robinson). 

 

Dear father of Karen (Wayne) Graham, of Woodstock; and Paul Bonello, of Shelburne.  Loving grandfather of Krista (Bill) Redling; Kyle (Miranda) Graham; Alicia Baker Bonnello; and Robin Bonello. Sadly missed by his great grandchildren: Tyler and Braedon Redling, and Lincoln Graham. 

 

Predeceased by his sister Carmella Marcella. 

 

The memorial service was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, with Rev. Fr. Don Wilhelm officiating.

LORNE CAMERON

Lorne Courtney Cameron passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener on Dec. 20, 2009, at the age of 88 years.

 

Beloved husband of Marie (née Buswell) Cameron for 36 years. 

Dear father of John and his wife Ann, of Waterloo; Doug and his wife Cathy, of Kitchener.  Special Grandpa to Melanie and Sarah.

Lovingly remembered by his brother Eugene (Doris ), of Guelph; his brother-in-law Glen McConnell, of Kincardine; his sister-in-law Gladys Buswell, of Centralia; and by his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Hugh A. and Bertha Cameron; his father and mother-in-law Home and Agnes Buswell; his sister Isabel McConnell; his brothers-in-law Allen and Melville Buswell; his sister-in-law Hazel (née Buswell) and her husband Elmore Dunn.

Lorne was a veteran of the Second World War and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from March 1942 to February 1946.  He was a member of 404 Wing - Royal Canadian Air Force Association of Waterloo for nearly 55 years, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion -Branch 50, Kitchener, for 57 years. He was employed for many years by the Kitchener Police Department and Burns Security.

Visitation was held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West, Kitchener, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. when a funeral service celebrating Lorne’s life was held in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Myron Leis officiating. 

Interment Woodland Cemetery

A reception followed at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.

DORIS GLOVER

Doris Margaret Glover (née Shier), died at the Southampton Care Centre, on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, in her 82nd year. 

 

Beloved wife of the late Wesley Franklin Glover.

Also survived by brothers and sisters: Alice Tilley, Hilda Miller, Ida Plante, Walt and Barbara Shier, Frank and Joyce Ferguson, Lloyd and Rilla Shier, Ray and Inga Shier, Iona Shier, and Marlene Shier; and brother and sister-in-law Betty Rummel and Bus Brown. 

  

Predeceased by Delbert Glover; Faye Glover; Lori Wardell; and Frank Gurr; as well as by Willard, Herb, Fred, Evelyn, Mildred, and Winnie Shier, Jim Tilley, and Earl Miller. 

 

Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 from where the funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, with Pastor Kenneth Craig officiating. 

 

Pallbearers were: Roland, Terry and Floyd Glover; Don Brenner; and Brian and Paul Bushell.

 

Flower bearers were: Shawn Brenner; Lorianne Brenner-Convay; Tina Perilli; Kerry Robinson; Vincent Wardell; and Amanda Mitchell.

SARAH HAMMOND

Sarah "Ellen" Hammond (née Higgs), of Kincardine and formerly of Montreal, died at Brucelea Haven, on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, in her 83rd year. 

Beloved wife of the late Arthur Hammond (1986). 

Dear sister of Jean (Gordon) Rodgers, of Kincardine. 

Also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Higgs, of Montreal. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her parents, James and Edith (Sittlington) Higgs; by her sisters, Rita Higgs and Lorna (Richard) Patterson; and by her brothers, Herbert George and John Higgs. 

 

A graveside service will be held in Montreal in the spring of 2010.

KRYSTANA HARMAN

Krystyna Harman (nee Szlapczynska), of RR #1, Kincardine, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, in her 65th year.

Beloved wife of Ken Harman.

Dear sister of Zbigniew, and his wife Jadwiga; Michal and his wife Anna; and Aleksander and his wife Lucyna.

Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Alojzy and Janina Szlapcznska.

Gladys Iona La France (née Kilgour), of Kincardine, died at Trillium Court, on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in her 92nd year.

Cherished sister of Hazel Wilson, of Kincardine. 

Predeceased by her loved son Laverne; as well as by her brother Roy Kilgour; and sisters, Ivy Schope, Ora Martin and Laura MacCrindle.
