Kincardine Community Achievement Award nominees announced

The Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for the 2019 Community Achievement Awards.

 

There are three nominees for each of the 14 awards sponsored by Kincardine businesses and organizations. The awards will be presented at a gala at Ainsdale Golf Course on March 2. The three nominees for this year’s Bruce Power Citizen of the Year Award are Tom Desmond, Pete Richards and Alana Rozen.

 

The following individuals and businesses have been nominated: Enbridge Quality of Life of Award – Chandra Tripathi, Old Boys Reunion and Kincardine Theatre Guild; RBC Golden Apple Award – Janet Owens, Kinetic Knights mentors and Stacey Dahmer; OPG Environment Award – Jennifer Cook and The Co-operators, Penetangore Watershed Group and SurfSup; Meridian Good Neighbour Award – Grey Matter Beer Company, Rick Clarke and Sam and Heather Finnie; CLKD Inclusion Award – Danielle Bois of Watercress, Heike Boettcher of Trillium Court and Jessica Cormier; Youth Programming Award – High Hopes Equestrian Services, Kincardine Power Basketball and Tanya Leppington.

 

Also nominated are: Bruce Telecom Young Entrepreneur Award – Andrew Dykeman, Jesse Lorusso and Nadine VandenHeuvel; Miller Insurance Farm-related Business Award – D & H Newman, Stone’s Throw Market Garden and The Beefway; BDO Customer Service Award – Alex Lussier, Kincardine Family Dentistry and Queen Street Veterinary Clinic; Municipality of Kincardine New Business Award – Penetangore Wellness, The Back Forty Baker and The Loop; Superheat FGH Business Person of the Year - Bharath Nangia, Natasha Roufos and Shawna Small; and myFM Business of the Year – C & M Construction, Grey Matter Beer Company and SurfSup.

 

There is a new Woman of the Year Award and Katrina Smiley, Sarah Chisholm and Shawna Small have been nominated.
