Two wins, one loss to start playoffs

The Bulldogs had a slow start to the playoffs on Friday night, losing game one to Mitchell 2-0.

 

Kincardine bounced back on Saturday night in Mitchell and came home with a 4-1 win. Jake Fair opened the scoring, with Brent West getting the assist. The Bulldogs scored a couple of power play goals in the second period to take a 3-0 lead. Logan Freiburger scored the first one, with Jordan Caskenette and Hunter Robins-Gibbons assisting. Brett Burrows banged in a rebound, with Jerrid Fossold assisting. Mitchell scored late in the second period to make it 3-1. Logan Swanton scored a late empty net goal to seal the 4-1 win.

 

On Sunday in Kincardine, the Bulldogs defeated Mitchell 4-0. Jesse Carnahan opened the scoring, with West and Caskenette assisting. Freiburger made it 2-0 late in the first period with help from West and Burrows. Mike Fiegehen snapped home a nice wrist shot to extend the lead to 3-0 midway through the third with Kent Ribey and Blake Buchannan assisting. Swanton made it 4-0 on the power play with a nice shot from the point on a pass from Freiburger. Craig Luinstra had a big weekend in net allowing only three goals on 84 shots.

 

Game four is in Mitchell tonight (Wednesday) night at 8:30 p.m. Game five will be in Kincardine on Friday night at 7:25 p.m.
