KDSS wins two in Owen Sound

The boys travelled to Owen Sound last Wednesday for two games, and won both games.

 

The morning game was against St. Marys and Kincardine came away with a 6-3 win. Jordan Beisel opened the scoring in the first period when he went in on a breakaway and snapped home a wrist shot with Wilson Shipp assisting. Carson Boettinger made it 2-0 when he banged in a rebound off a Cam Lamont shot, with Noah Swann also assisting. Kurtis Smeltzer sent Jake Colley in on a breakaway and he made it 3-0.

 

Owen Sound scored late in the second period to make it 3-1. Beisel extended the lead to 4-1 on a shot from the point on the power play with Swann and Ethan Vollmer assisting. Swann made it 5-1 on a nice pass from Beisel and Liam Colhoun. Colley put KDSS ahead to 6-1 with a nice shot from the slot with Vollmer and Smeltzer assisting. Owen Sound scored a couple late ones to make it a 6-3 final.

 

In the second game of the day, KDSS defeated Owen Sound District 5-4. Colhoun led the way in this game with two goals and one assist. Shipp had a goal and two assists. Vollmer scored a goal and had an assist. Cam Lamont scored the fifth goal. Jordan Moulton and Mitch Pike each had an assist in the game. Everett Luinstra played well in both game to pick up both wins in net.
