The short-handed Bulldogs lost a pair of games on the weekend to the Wingham Ironmen and the Mount Forest Patriots.

On Friday night, Kincardine lost a hard-fought game 4-3 in Wingham. Tanner Reid from Ripley opened the scoring when he banked a shot off Blake Buchannan into the net. Jerrid Fossold tied the score with a nice snapshot from the slot. He did not finish the period as he separated his shoulder sliding into the boards. He joins Logan Freiburger and Brett Burrows on the sidelines.

Jordan Caskenette put the Bulldogs ahead as he slipped in a rebound off a Mike Fiehegen shot, with Logan Swanton also assisting. The Ironmen scored the next two to take a 3-2 lead. Josh Traynor tied the game on the power play, flipping in a rebound over Jamie Brock’s shoulder, with Fiegehen assisting. The Ironmen scored five minutes into the third period and hung on for a 4-3 win.

On Saturday night in Kincardine, the Bulldogs were missing five good players and lost 4-0 to the Mount Forest Patriots. The Patriots were also missing a couple good players for the game. Besides the three injured players the Bulldogs were missing, Brent West and Hunter Robins-Gibbons that had an exam at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

The Bulldogs play Hanover at home Saturday night at 7:25 p.m. and play Goderich in Lucknow at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
