The Kincardine Bulldogs split a pair of home games on the weekend. On Friday night, they defeated Goderich 5-1.

The Flyers opened the scoring five minutes into the game. But a couple of minutes later Logan Freiburger snapped home a wrist shot from the slot with Jordan Caskenette assisting on the goal. Keegan Angel banged in a rebound on the power play to make it 2-1. Some hard work from Jerrid Fossold and Grant Stevens helped set up the goal. Ethan Long made it 3-1 with a breakaway goal with Fossold assisting. Freiburger made it 4-1 early in the second period with Mike Fiegehen assisting. Caskenette scored the only goal of the third period with Fiegehen and Freiburger assisting. Craig Luinstra had a strong game in net stopping 20 shots for the win.

On Saturday night, the Bulldogs outshot the Walkerton Hawks 40-27, but lost a close one 4-3.

Kincardine dominated the second period but hit a couple posts and a crossbar and fell behind 1-0. Walkerton took a 3-0 midway thru the 2nd period. Brett Burrows made it 3-1 with a couple minutes left in the second with an assist from Mike Fiegehen. Walkerton scored late in the period to make it 4-1.

The third period was all Kincardine again with Josh Traynor scoring with help from Ethan Long. Then Burrows scored his second of the night with Keegan Angel and Logan Freiburger assisting. Rookie goalie Jacob Adams had a good game in goal stopping 24 shots.

The Bulldogs have a couple tough road games next weekend as they play in Wingham against the unbeaten Ironmen. On Sunday night they will travel to Orillia to play the first place team from the Caruthers division in their first interlock game.
