Municipality of Kincardine residents are invited to come out on Sept. 26 and meet the candidates who are running in the 2018 municipal election.

The Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce will host an all-candidates meeting at the Davidson Centre. Candidates will discuss their platforms and members of the public will have an opportunity to ask questions about the issues that matter to them.

There are 13 candidates vying for seats at the Municipality of Kincardine council table this term. Ward 3 Councillor Randy Roppel was acclaimed to serve another term. Incumbent Mayor Anne Eadie is being challenged by Kincardine resident Ron Stephens. Ward 1 Councillor Maureen Couture is running for a second term against Gerry Glover and Adam Cherry for one of two Ward 1 seats.

Ward 2 Councillor Linda McKee is also seeking another term on council and is being challenged by Bill Stewart.

Current council members Gordon Campbell, Laura Haight and Andrew White are all seeking another term as councillors-at-large. Dave Cuyler, Doug Kennedy and Marie Wilson are also seeking to serve at-large. Four councillors-at-large will be elected and the candidate with the most votes will serve as deputy mayor.

Doors for the all-candidates meeting will open at 6 p.m. and the meeting will run from 7-9 p.m.
