After a big opening night win in Kincardine, the Ripley Wolves had a weekend off to recharge and prepare for the 2017-18 WOAA Senior AA hockey season.

The new-look Wolves have continued to add talent, size and skill to the club, as they displayed with a 2-1 win over the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks at the Davidson Centre during Hockey Day in Kincardine. But the grind begins Friday, and continues Saturday night as the Wolves will play their first game of the season in front of a hometown Ripley crowd.

The Wolves probably won't be looking past Friday, however. Ripley has a Friday night date with the defending league champions in Clinton. The Radars also added some serious talent, and defeated the Whitby Dunlops of the OHA AAA Hockey League recently in an exhibition pre-season game between the two teams.

But back in the village the following day, the Wolves will meet the Huron East Centenaires. The puck drops at 7 p.m. at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre.

Ripley will travel to Petrolia Oct. 27 to play the Squires and then head to Shallow Lake Nov. 3 before returning home for a Nov. 4 game against Tavistock.
