The Ripley Wolves will open the WOAA Senior AA regular season in Kincardine at the Davidson Centre Oct. 7.

After a full day of minor hockey games scheduled between the Kincardine Minor Hockey Association and the Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey system, the Wolves will kick off another season with a 5:15 p.m. contest against the rival Saugeen Shores Winterhawks. It had previously been reported that this game was an exhibition preseason affair, but that is not the case.

Following the Wolves and Winterhawks, the Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs will take on the Penetang Kings in Provincial Junior Hockey League action.

in other senior hockey news, the Minto-Mapleton 81's have pulled out of the league for the 2017-18 hockey season. The 81's roster was decimated by player retirement and movement. It is a one-year leave of absence, officially.
