Two-win weekend for Cubs

The Kincardine Cubs continued to dominate the Midwestern Ontario Senior Baseball League on the weekend with a pair of wins on the road.

Kincardine is now 15-1 in MOSBL regular season action, which leaves them in first place overall and three points ahead - with a game in-hand - on the second place Listowel Legionnaires.

Friday night in Woodstock, the Cubs defeated the Nationals 10-8. On Sunday, Kincardine worked for a 3-1 win over those second place Legionnaires. The Cubs have twice been held to three runs this season - and they have won both those games by a 3-1 score, getting it done on both sides of the diamond.

While regular season action in the MOSBL continues for another three weeks, the Cubs have just about completed their regular season schedule. Kincardine will need to schedule make-up games against Woodstock, Lucan and St. Thomas. Scheduled regular season games against those teams were rained, or more accurately stormed, out.

Once the regular season has been completed, the MOSBL play-off tournament is scheduled to be played on the Aug. 18 weekend.
