Highlanders perfect in Fergus

The Kincardine Highlanders ran table in Fergus on the weekend.

The defending Ontario Lacrosse Association's Junior Masters provincial champs went 4-0 in the team's third tournament this season. That will surely keep Kincardine as the top-seeded team as the OLA provincial tournament approaches in September. The Highlanders currently share the top-seed honours with Six Nations, Bramalea and Brampton, all with 16 points.

Friday night, the Highlanders defeated Oakville 5-3. Kincardine followed that up with a 7-3 win over Windsor early Saturday afternoon and a 9-3 win over the Durham Nomads on Saturday evening.

Kincardine completed the undefeated weekend with a convincing 5-1 win over a strong team from Six Nations.

There is one more tournament on the OLA schedule before the provincial championship tournament in early September. Kincardine will travel to Niagara-on-the-Lake for tournament action on the second weekend in August.
