Kincardine bats were hot Friday night in Komoka as the Cubs ripped the London Area Angels 19-7.

Sunday, the Cubbies hosted two games at home - one against the Lucan Irish Nine and one against the league leading Listowel Legionnaires.

The trio of wins, and collection of six points, moved Kincardine into a tie for top spot with Listowel. The Legionnaires are now 9-2 with 18 points, while the Cubs are 9-1 with 18 points and a game in hand.

Kincardine barely squeaked by the Lucan Irish Nine in Sunday's first game on Tout Field at Connaught Park. The Irish Nine entered the game with a respectable 7-2 record, good for fourth overall in the MOSBL. Lucan pushed the Cubs to the brink, but Kincardine held on for a 10-9 win.

Later in the day, the Cubs dumped Listowel in a game that determined first place in the MOSBL standings, for the time being. Kincardine won this contest by a 7-3 score. The players played through rain, but finally cut things short due to lightning over Lake Huron.Kincardine has another three game weekend on deck, but this time all three of them are on the road. Friday night at 8 p.m., the Cubs will visit the 7-3 third place Mitchell Astros. Then on Sunday, Kincardine will be in Komoka to take on the Angels in a noon start and then make the short trip over to Cardinal Field in St. Thomas to face the 4-2 sixth place St. Thomas Cardinals. Next home game for the Cubs is July 23 when the Cardinals will visit Connaught Park  for 2 p.m.
