JAMIESON HUNTER

Jamieson “Jamie” Francis Hunter of Malcolm Place Retirement Residence in Kincardine passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the age of 77.

 

Loving father of Milena Hunter (Mike Avarell) and Allie Hunter.

 

Missed by his grandchildren Graedon and Mara Avarell.

 

Fondly remembered by his siblings John Hunter (Betty), Charles Hunter (Judie), Rodger Hunter (Virginia) and Mary Campbell and by several nieces and nephews.

 

Predeceased by his parents Allan and Catherine (née Bell) Hunter, sister Janice Morris and brother-in-law Bill Campbell.

 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017.

 

Visitation was followed by the funeral service celebrating Jamie’s life at 2 p.m., with Rev. Lynda Janzen officiating. Pallbearers were Wayne Schwandt, Charlie Steinhoff, Gerry Brooks, Bob Mitchell, Bill Cole, Ken Battler and Jonny Travis. Floral tributes were carried by Lynn Steinhoff and Heather Catto.

DONALD MacTAVISH

Donald Alexander MacTavish of Ripley passed away at the Kincardine Hospital on June 1, 2017, at the age of 90.

He was the beloved husband of Anna (née MacDonald) for 67 years.

Dear dad of Barb (who predeceased him in 2007) & Charles Liddle of R.R. #1, Kincardine; Jean & Ian MacDonald; and Marg & Sandy Pollock of Ripley.

Missed by his grandchildren: Kim Liddle, Kent (Nicole) Liddle, Jenny MacDonald, Melissa MacDonald (Shane Watson), Brett (Sarah) Pollock, Corey Pollock and Tyson (Amy) Pollock, and by seven great-grandchildren.

Survived by his brother-in-law Stuart Schierholtz.

Predeceased by his sisters Beth and Louise.

Don was an active member of the Ripley community. He was a charter member of the Ripley Lion's Club, joining in 1972. He belonged to the Ripley Agricultural Society for more than 60 years and received the Jubilee Award for more than 50 years of service. Don loved gardening and could often be found pulling weeds with a smile.

Visitation was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017. A Lion’s walk through was held on Sunday at 5:45 p.m. to honour Lion Don.

The funeral service took place at St. Andrew's United Church, James Street, Ripley, at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017, with visitation for one hour prior. Pastor Ken Craig officiated. The organist was Shirley Harris.

Interment Ripley Cemetery.
