The inaugural Kincardine pickleball tournament can certainly be considered a success.

A total of 24 doubles teams took part in the two-day event, whcih came to a conclusion last Tuesday afternoon with some exciting pickleball action in the Daivdson Centre hall. The tournament was held on consecutive Wednesdays.

When all the dust had settled, the team of Paul Hamann and Steve Baulch came out as the A Division champions. They swept Les Booth and Linda MacTavish 2-0 in the championship final. The B final, pictured above, saw Terry VanGaver and Don Brisson win a third and deciding match.

With so many teams participating in the event - and most teams sticking around until the end to take in the finals - there is a good chance there will be a second annual tournament next season.
