BEATRICE BROWN

Beatrice Margaret Brown (née Scott), of Kincardine and formerly of Kitchener and Paisley, died at Brucelea Haven, in Walkerton, on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2009, in her 94th year. 

Dear mother of Gerry (Doug) Fortune, of Belgrave; and Harlene (John) Middelkamp, of R.R. 2, Ripley. 

Loving grandmother of Carrie Fortune, Julie (Greg) Diamond, Shane (Sheona) Middelkamp, Crystal (Anibal) Morais, Matthew (Loraine) Middelkamp and Jarred (Candy) Middelkamp.  Cherished great grandmother of Josh and Cody Diamond; William and Cara Middelkamp; and Jack Morais, Danika, Vivian, Chelene and Coral Middelkamp. 

Sadly missed by her sister Lorraine MacDonald of Waterloo. 

Predeceased by her husband, Harold Brown; a daughter, Bonnie, in infancy; and brother, Arnold Scott.

FLORENCE GREGG

Florence Gregg (née White), of Kincardine, passed away at Trillium Court, on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, in her 99th year. 

She was predeceased by her husband Percy; great-grandson, Jordon; three sisters and six brothers.  She is survived by three sons: Harry (Helen), of Mississauga; Tom (Margaret), of Kincardine; and Andrew (Julie); of Silver Valley, Alberta; and one daughter, Shirley (Douglas) McEwen, of London; as well as by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009  from 7-9 p.m. and also on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Jeff and Colin Gregg; Scott and Kane Gregg; Tom Gregg; and Ellen Gregg.

LUKAS HUBER

Lukas Alexander Emil Huber, of R. R. 2, Tiverton, died at his home on Friday, July 31, 2009, at the age of three years. 

Beloved son of Rolf Huber and Debi Johnson. 

Loving brother of Mitchell Johnson, Jacob Atkinson, Jaxon, twin brother Lliam, Pascale, Marc and Sandy "Alexandra" Huber. 

Cherished grandson of Sharon Johnson and Donald Johnson, both of Kincardine; and Rosemarie Dorflinger, of Switzerland

Lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Predeceased by his grandfather Emil Huber.

LIDA JOHNSTONE

Lida Donalda Johnstone (née Johnston), of Kincardine and formerly of Listowel, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in her 92nd year. 

Beloved wife of Oliver Johnstone. Dear mother of Shirley Johnstone-Hay (Vern Fry), of Kincardine. 

Loving grandmother of Deane (Kerri) Hay, of Barrie. Also survived by her great grandson Dustin Hay, of Barrie; and sisters-in-law Edith Johnston, of Clinton; and Eileen Johnston, of Kincardine.  Predeceased by her great grandchildren Nathan and Diana Hay; sister Laverne Matthews; and brothers Cecil, Orland, Lorne and Lionel Johnston. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dennis Cluley officiating.

MARY McCALLUM

Mary Adella McCallum (Della) (née Mock), of Kincardine, died at the Southampton Care Centre, on July 30, 2009 in her 90th year. 

Dear mother of Shirley Dow (Murray Lowry), of Elora; Doris (Walter) Howald, of Formosa; and Janet (Wayne) Zettler, of Kincardine. 

Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by son-in-law Brian Cornish, and many nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her husband, Bert McCallum; daughter Linda Cornish; as well as by sisters Lorraine Hyde, Beth Page and Elsie Pain and son-in-law Douglas Dow. 

The funeral service was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, with Rev. Don Harry officiating.

DONALD McDONALD

Donald John McDonald, of Kincardine and formerly of Tiverton and Mississauga, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Friday, July 31, 2009, in his 89th year. 

Beloved husband of the late Geraldine (née Cronk). Loving brother of Margaret MacDonald, of Kincardine. 

Don was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a veteran, having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during The Second World War. He was also the founder and former president of McDonald Sales and Merchandising; a past president of the Dixie Curling Club; and a member of the Canadian Hardware Housewares Association Hall of Fame. 

The funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, in Tiverton, on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, with Rev. Jeanette Fleischer officiating.

JIM McEWAN

James Duncan Malcolm “Jim” McEwan, of Kincardine, died at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow, on July 22, 2009, in his 88th year. 

Beloved husband of  Joyce (née Arnold) McEwan. Dear father of Jamie (Barbara), of Etobicoke; Ken (Marian), of Chatham; and Sandy, of Edmonton, Alberta. Loving grandfather of Ian, Colin, Sarah, Brett and James. 

Predeceased by brother Donald and his wife Mabel; and sister Jean and her husband Jack White.

Jim lived a full life. He was born at Braeside Farm on the 14th Concession of Kinloss Township on Sept. 22, 1921. His parents, Jim and Mary McEwan, having immigrated from Scotland in 1920, moved to Silver Lake Farm in 1925 where Jim and his family lived until he and Joyce retired to Kincardine in 1986.

Jim had many talents and was adept at animal husbandry, butchering beef and evaluating cattle. He loved animals and ran a mixed farm. He also loved the outdoors and was a skilled woodsman and hunter. Jim served on many local boards, such as the Kinloss Community Centre, the Bruce County Cattleman and the board of the local church. People were another of his passions and he loved to chat.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Don Harry on July 27, 2009, at the Kincardine United Church.

Pallbearers were: James, Ken, Sandy, Doug and Bob McEwan and John White. Honorary pallbearers were: Bill Butters, Ron Stanley and Stewart Lane

Flower bearers were his grandchildren: Ian, Colin, Sarah, Brett and James McEwan, while Barbara and Marian McEwan read scripture.

Interment in the family plot in the Kincardine Cemetery.

BARBARA MORGAN

Barbara Morgan ,of Kincardine, died at home on July 29, 2009, in her 67th year. 

Beloved wife of  Dave Morgan.

Dear mother of Sue (Mark) Liddle, of Tiverton; Debbie (Rob) Stalker, of  Port Elgin; and Rachelle Morgan, of Niagara Falls. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Danyelle and Jordan Liddle; and Kasandra, Katelyn and Kaleb Large. 

Loved sister of David (Sandy) Hill, of Thorold; and Richard (Enid) Hill, of England. Also sadly missed by her nieces and nephews: Ian, Eric, Christopher and Georgina

CELESTE TREMBLAY                               

Sept. 12, 1925 - July 23, 2009

Celeste Tremblay peacefully passed away on July 23, 2009 at the Kincardine Hospital, in her 80th year.

She will be remembered by her six children: Harold (Barb) Tremblay, Carla (Ken) Venables, Jeff Tremblay, Carrie (Dave) O’Donnell, of Ripley; Peter Tremblay, of Kincardine; and Paul Tremblay, of Toronto

She will be missed by her grandchildren: Chris Paul (Jodi), Jason Paul (Emma), Kevin Paul (Candice), Ryan (Alex) Venables, Sean and Collin Venables; and Jamie, Stephen, Jamie Celeste and Jeffrey. She also has three great grandsons and one great granddaughter, Leah Paul. 
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Kincardine Hospital for their care of our mom as she was there a lot, and also for their support during our time of need. 

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 749 Russell Street, Kincardine on Aug. 8, 2009.

RONALD PRESZCATOR

Ronald William Preszcator, of Woodstock and formerly of Kincardine, died at the London Health Sciences Centre - University Campus on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, in his 68th year.

Beloved husband of Sally E. (née Fox) Preszcator for over 47 years.

Dear father of Rhonda Sutton and her husband Bill, and Rick Preszcator (Frances), all of Oshawa; Denise McNeill and her husband Alister, of Port Elgin; and Dan Preszcator (Jackie), of Princeton. Loved grandfather of Timothy, Billy (Amanda), David, Katelyn, Danielle, Cole, Madison, Teagan and Wilson and great grandfather of Hailey.

Dear brother of Gary Preszcator (Norma), of Clinton; and Joan Holden, of St. Catharines. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Howard and Jeanne Preszcator.

Ron was a long-time member of the Brotherhood of Boiler Makers Local 128. He was a welding supervisor with Ontario Hydro for over 33 years. Ron especially enjoyed making furniture in his wood shop and sharing them with his entire family. His favourite past-time was spending time with his family and relaxing to a game of golf.

As per Ron’s request there will be no funeral visitation or service. A private family service may be held at a later date.

Cremation has taken place.
