The South Bruce OPP received a report from residents in the lakefront community around 8:30 a.m. Thursday that the tennis courts, located in the 100 block of Bruce Beach Road in Huron-Kinloss, had been spray-painted with offensive graffiti. Swastikas and ugly words were painted on the court surface, benches and court signs in red paint and black and white paint had been poured around the courts. The nets were also spray-painted red and burned in some areas.

Police estimate that the damage to the courts is approximately $10,000. The OPP Forensic Identification unit and the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit are assisting with this investigation. Graffiti is a criminal act called mischief that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail.
