Dr. Donald Munn of Point Clark and formerly of Listowel passed away at the Southampton Care Centre on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at age 88.

Beloved husband of Joy Munn.

Dear father of Andrew (Brenda) Munn of Edmonton, Christopher (Helen) Munn of Tottenham, Valerie Davey of Sauble Beach, Patti (Doug) Forman of St. Jacobs and Catherine Munn of Shepard Lake.

Also greatly missed by grandchildren Natasha, Kiah, Justin, Mitchell, Oliver, Sam, Metayha, Kyin, Alexandra and Max; by great-grandchildren Maya and Emmerson and by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by daughter Dr. Elizabeth Munn, son-in-law John Weber, brother Dr. William Munn and sister-in-law June Graham.

Don had an absolute zest for life. He was a real joker, a rascal, musician, magician, world traveller, water and downhill skier, scuba diver, poker and billiard player, outdoor enthusiast, photographer, astronomer, and had a keen interest in technology, politics and world affairs. He was definitely a small town and country doctor with specialized training as a general practitioner, surgeon, emergency medical doctor, anaesthesiologist, obstetrician, and pathologist.

While he was training in England, he met a nurse who agreed to marry him and move to Canada. She was the love of his life. Dr. Don had a genuine love for people and community, but most of all, he was the best husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather ever! Family was everything to him. He was the happiest person we knew. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of Dr. Don's life will be held at the Point Clark Community Centre on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, from 2-5 p.m.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Memorial and condolences available online at

Arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, 12 Queen Street, Box 248, Ripley N0G 2R0; 519-395-2969.
