GWYN BROOKING

M. D. Gwyneth Jackson Brooking (née Allender) of Maryhill and formerly of Kincardine passed away at Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, July 28, 2016, after a brief illness, at the age of 73 years.

Predeceased by her first husband Sam Jackson (1988) and her second husband Colin Brooking (2000), and by her parents Bill and Doe Allender.

Loved mother of R. Gene Jackson (Gwen Shuttleworth) of Oshawa and Shannon (Tony) Metz of Elmira. Loving grandmother of Alyssa, Meghan, Keirsten, Joey, and Sam.

Dear sister of Peter (Rosemary), Douglas (Tina), and Ted. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families.

Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira.

The funeral service was held at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, with visitation for one hour prior.

Cremation has taken place.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

WIB BURNSIDE

 

Wilbert “Wib” Francis Burnside of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on Monday, July 25, 2016, in his 81st year.

 

Cherished husband of Helen Burnside (née McDonald).

 

Loving son of the late John and Margaret Burnside.

 

Loved brother of John (Rosalyn) Burnside of Walkerton. Dear brother-in-law of Alex McDonald of Dorchester. Missed by nieces Karen MacDonald of London and Michelle (Scott) Smibert of Dorchester.

 

Also missed by his great friends Steve Cameron and Mary and Gordon McGarvey.

 

Predeceased by sister-in-law Eleanor McDonald.

 

A graveside service will take place at the Kincardine Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, with Pastor Ken Craig officiating.

 

Memorial donations to the Kincardine United Church or Kincardine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

ASH CROMWELL

Clarence Ashley (Ash) Cromwell of Trillium Court in Kincardine passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016, in his 91st year.

Ash was born in Port Stanley, the son of the late Lionel and Mary Cromwell.

Beloved husband of the late Calomena (Pat) Cromwell (née MacDonald).

He will be sadly missed by his surviving sisters: Gail (Henry) Noyes of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Marilyn Brown of Sarnia; as well as by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his brothers Monte Cromwell of Port Stanley and Oliver; and by sisters Nina Margaret Crocker of St. Thomas, Dorothy Wilson of New Brunswick and Ruth Anne (Wayne) Dengler of Danbury, Conn.

Ashley was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a Corporal and radio operator #211 from 1952 to 1968. As a young man, he was a fisherman on the Great Lakes, then spent time in the mining industry.  He loved his time in Western Canada and returned to Ontario with Calomena to continue to support many family members, providing joy and support as they had done out west.

He was an honest, devoted and caring husband and will be missed by all.

Following Ashley’s wishes, there will be no service.

A private inurnment will reunite him with Calomena in the Kincardine Cemetery.

YVETTE HANECA

 

Yvette J. Haneca (née Cool) of Kincardine and formerly of Strathroy Caradoc died peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in her 85th year.

 

Beloved wife of 64 years to Ben Haneca.

 

Loving mother of Rick (Joyce) Haneca and David (Carol) Haneca.

 

Dear grandmother of Candice (Eric) Chartrand, Jeremy (Danielle) Haneca, Julia (Brenden) Haneca, April (Anthony), Chantal (Nick) and Josh (Christine). Great-grandma of Teja, Emma, Sophie, Ezekiel and Nevaya.

 

Rejoicing in heaven with her parents, brother and son Ron.

 

Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home in Mount Brydges, where the funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, with Rev. Steve Atkinson officiating.

 

Interment Mount Brydges Cemetery.

IRENE MANNERS

 

Vera Irene Manners (née MacKinnon) of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on Thursday, July 7, 2016, in her 101st year.

 

Beloved wife of the late Donald Manners, for 64 years.

 

Cherished mother of Ian (Dixie) of St. Marys, George of Kincardine, Archie (Shirley) of Strathroy, Isabel Dedman of Minden and Janis of Kincardine. Loved grandmother of eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Also missed by many nieces and nephews.

 

Irene was born  in Bruce Township on July 10, 1915, to her parents John and Isabelle (née Scott) MacKinnon.

 

Predeceased by her sons Robert and Donald Jr., grandson Robert Zborowski, brothers Neil, Archie, George, Jack and Chambers, sisters Catherine Hartle, Jean Murray, Annabelle Clark and Rita Gottschalk and daughter-in-law Lynn Manners.

 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine from 11 a.m. until noon  on Monday, July 11, 2016, followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Judy Zarubick officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Paul, David and Stephen Manners, John and Jonathan Weessies and Christopher Manners.

 

Interment Kincardine Cemetery.
