MARY ELLEN O’MALLEY

 

Mary Ellen O’Malley (née McNamara) formerly of Wingham and Teeswater passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the age of 96.

 

Born in Stratford on Dec. 6, 1919, to the late Joseph and Camilla (née Duggan) McNamara.

 

Beloved wife of the late Charles O’Malley, who predeceased her in 1993.

 

Loving mother of Maureen Steinbach (Steve) of Cambridge, Mary Helen Deakin (Don) of Killaloe, Catherine O’Connor of Stratford, Edward O’Malley of Teeswater, Patricia Devitt (Blake) of Kincardine, Terrance O’Malley (Mary) of Elmwood and Teresa Blackwell (Ben) of Teeswater.

 

Missed by her grandchildren: Paul Steinbach (Stephanie), Lisa Deligianis (Dino), Mary Anne Schuhbauer (Mike), Paula Grossenbacher (Werner), Jason Swanson (Sheila), Emily O’Connor, Daniel O’Connor (Shannon), Crosby Devitt (Carie), Angela Kensit (Paul), Tyson Devitt (Angela), Trent Devitt (Melissa), Clancy O’Malley, Lindsay Blackwell (Matt Smith), Greg Blackwell (Laura) and Janelle Blackwell and by 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Predeceased by her son Richard O’Malley, son-in-law Terence O’Connor, sister Catherine Crunican (John) and brother Richard McNamara (Marian).

 

Mary taught with the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board for a number of years.  She retired as principal of Sacred Heart School in Wingham in 1985.

 

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Teeswater at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, with Rev. Father Michael Anderson and Rev. Father Keith Morrison officiating. Choirs from the Sacred Heart churches in Teeswater and Wingham provided music for the funeral mass, featuring soloist Marianne Hogan. Floral tributes were carried by granddaughters Lisa Deligianis, Mary Anne Schuhbauer, Emily O’Connor, Angela Kensit, Lindsay Blackwell and Janelle Blackwell.

 

Carrying Mary to her final place of rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery were grandsons Paul Steinbach, Daniel O’Connor, Crosby Devitt, Tyson Devitt, Trent Devitt and Greg Blackwell.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ronald McDonald House - Southwestern Ontario or the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

J.S. ROBB

James Samuel "J.S." Robb of Kincardine and formerly of Point Clark passed away at Malcolm Place in Kincardine on Friday, July 15, 2016, in his 87th year.

He was born in Wingham on Oct. 2, 1929, to the late Jennie (McNain) and Wesley Robb.  Survived by two sisters: Katherine Campbell of Point Clark and Marion Hodgins of Bervie and by brother-in-law Bert Osborne of Trout Creek as well as by several nieces and nephews.

Also missed by good friend Norma Robinson of Kincardine.

Predeceased by his sister Gwendolyn Osborne and brothers-in-law Robert Campbell and Vernon Hodgins.

A private graveside service was held at the Ripley Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, with Pastor Ken Craig officiating.

SHIRLEY TWOLAN

Shirley Mae Twolan of Ripley, beloved wife of the late Bernie Twolan, passed away at the Kincardine Hospital on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at age 68.

She was born in Pembroke, Ontario on Aug. 6, 1947, to the late Ilene and Bernard Juby.

Greatly missed by her sons: Mitch (Brittny) Twolan of Point Clark, Clint (Shaena) Twolan of Princeton and Steve (Julie) Twolan of Point Clark, and by her grandchildren: Brandon, Kyler, Emma, Bronwyn, Amelia, Slade and Sophie.

Survived by nine brothers and sisters: Gary (Diane), Wayne, Clifton, Kevin, Faye, Glorianne (Claude), Cathy (Tommy), Brenda and Dorothy (Andy) and by brother-in-law Jack (Madge) Twolan and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by siblings Garland, Donna and Carolyn.

Visitation was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016.  The funeral service was conducted from the chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016, with Pastor Lynda Janzen officiating.

Interment Ripley Cemetery.
