It is a good day to be Scottish in Kincardine.

Gorgeous weather blessed large crowds and enthusiastic competitors today (Saturday) at the 17th annual Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games.

Highland dancing, solo piping, band competitions and the Heavy Events were among the highlights of today's schedule, as well as the Parade of Clans. And the best is yet to come.

Crowds are already lining Queen Street in downtown Kincardine in anticipation of the weekly Saturday night march by the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band at 8 p.m. Later tonight, the main stage at the festival will feature numerous acts - including Canadian rockers Sloan and festival favourites, the Mudmen.

The Festival continues tomorrow with another full day of Scottish activity.
