Two road wins for Cubs

Host Hanover tonight at Connaught Park

The Kincardine Cubs took two wins on the road in Thames Valley Senior Baseball League play on the weekend.

The Cubbies improved to 4-1 on the season with wins over the Woodstock Nationals and the London Area Angels.

Friday night in Woodstock, Kincardine cruised to an 11-4 win over the Nationals. Then Sunday afternoon in Byron, the Cubs edged out the Angels 10-8.

In other TVSBL action on the weekend, the Mitchell Astros beat the St. Thomas Cardinals 15-5 on Friday night. Saturday, the Lucan Irish Nine blasted the Forest City Storm 12-0. Sunday, the Astros smoked Woodstock 12-2. Mitchell is the only undefeated team in the TVSBL with a 4-0 record.

Tonight (Wednesday), the Cubs play a rare weekday game at home. The Hanover Hitmen will visit Connaught Park tonight for a 7 p.m. start on Tout Field. The Hitmen come into tonight's game with a record of 2-1-1.

The Cubs will then head to Lucan on Sunday for an 11 a.m. game against the 3-1 Irish Nine.
