EARL ELLIOTT

Earl Nelson Elliott, a veteran of the Second World War, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2016, at his home in Wingham, in his 93rd year. He was in the company of his wife of 69 years, June R. Elliott.

Earl was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 21, 1923, to the late Peggy (Stanley) and Frank Elliott.

Happy memories were formed with his four children and their spouses: Nancy Elliott-Greenwood and Paul Greenwood of Goderich, Stephen and Janice Elliott of Blind River, Joyce and John Farrell of R.R. #2, Wingham and Ian and Shari Elliott of Horseshoe Valley.

Earl will be dearly missed by 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. The funeral service was conducted from the chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016, with Pastor Henry Steenbergen officiating.

Spring interment Durham Road Baptist Cemetery, Greenock Township.

Donations to the Purple Grove Community Centre or Ripley Knox Presbyterian Church were greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy. 

 

BOB FERRIS

Robert “Bob” Joseph Ferris of Glammis passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre -Kincardine on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in his 81st year.

Beloved husband of Joan Ferris (née Calver).

Dear father of Bill Ferris of Alma, Deb (Randi) Belrose of Owen Sound and Rick (Carie) Ferris of Port Elgin.

Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Amanda Toth, Daniel Ferris, Vanessa Ferris, Jennifer Christensen (Adam), Kristen Belrose, Morgan Ferris and Kira Ferris and by his great-grandchildren: Aniesha, Tyrien and Draiden.

Also missed by his brother-in-law Larry Calver of London and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Margaret (née Gibson) Ferris, infant daughter Heather, sister Jean Buchanan (Ian) and sister-in-law Anna Calver.

A memorial service will be held at Glammis Baptist Church in Glammis at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, with Reverend David Williams officiating. Following the service, the celebration of Bob’s life will continue at the Underwood Community Centre in Underwood.

ED MARAK

Edward "Ed" John Marak of Kincardine passed away at home with his family by his side on Friday, March 18, 2016, in his 60th year.

Beloved son of John and Elizabeth (née Steinhower) of London.

Loving husband of Linda Marak (née McEwen).

Dear father of David (Erika) Marak of Buffalo, N.Y., Andrew (Kate) Marak and Rebecca (Greg) Dupuis, all of London. Loved grandfather of Addison Marak.

Loving brother of Anne (Steve) Bloomer of London. Missed by sisters-in-law Dorothy Day and Wendy McEwen. Also missed by his nieces and nephews: Michelle (Jon) Rohan, Mark Bloomer, Michael (Rachel) Day and Geoffrey Day and by great-nephew Austin Rohan.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 2, 2016,  at The Harbour Church, 249 Bruce Avenue, Kincardine.

LEON NOWAKOWSKI

Leon Nowakowski, son of Ben and Annie (nee Bigoraj) Nowakowski, passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2016, at Brucelea Haven nursing home in Walkerton.

Leon was born in Rama, Saskatchewan on Feb. 8, 1937.

Lovingly remembered and survived by his brothers and sisters: Maryanne Kuzminski, Adeline Grona, Casey and Charin Nowakowski, Henry and Florence Kereliuk, Edmund and Irene Nowakowski, David Nowakowski and Joan Glaister, Walter and Christine Godfrey, Christopher and Gaetanne Nowakowski, and by his many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Ben and Annie Nowakowski, brothers-in law Leon Kuzminski and John Grona, and nephews Kenneth Grona and Kevin Nowakowski.

A memorial service will be held at St. Kevin's Parish in Welland at a future date.

Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

DIANNA  SAUDER

Dianna Emma Marie Sauder (née Lucier) of Kincardine and formerly of Windsor passed away, surrounded by family, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on Saturday, March 12, 2016, in her 77th year.

Beloved wife of the late Mahlon “Mal” Sauder, who predeceased her in July, 2007.

Dear daughter of the late Clement and Rose Lucier.

Survived by her brothers Daniel Lucier and Lionel Lucier (Lucy), sisters-in-law Johanna Ropp and Louise Lucier and brothers-in-law Harvey Sauder (Alice) and Maurice Sauder (Mabel).

Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Predeceased by her brothers Victor Lucier (Marlene), Alvin Lucier (Eleanor), Arthur Lucier and Louis Lucier (Rita); sisters Louise Lucier (Ray) and Emilia Kinsman (David); sister-in-law Grace Lucier and niece Darlene Lucier.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.  The funeral service was held from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, with Reverend Don Harry officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Gene, Laurent and Calvin Lucier, Chris Hodare, Don Douglas and Steve Bowe.

Interment Kincardine Cemetery.

JOHN STASHUK

John Raymond Stashuk of Kincardine passed away at the Grey Bruce Health Services -Owen Sound, on Monday, March 14, 2016, in his 82nd year.

Beloved husband of Ann Stashuk (née Sharp) of Kincardine.

Loving father of Anthony (Darlene) Stashuk of Clinton, Sharon (Gord) Whiteduck of London, Wendy (Rick) Whiteduck of Keswick, Donna (Walter) Bezpalko of R.R. 3, Tiverton, Paul (Sandra) Stashuk of Vancouver, B.C. and Terri Stashuck (Mike) of London.

Missed by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Fondly remembered by his brother Anthony Stashuk of Kitchener, sister Florence O’Leary of Glace Bay, N.S., sister-in-law Marion Stashuk of Kitchener and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Violet (née Florence) Stashuk and brother Steve Stashuk.

A celebration of life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion- Branch 183 Kincardine from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
