WALLY CHALMERS

Wally Raymond Chalmers, of Point Clark, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Monday, June 1, 2009, in his 66th year.

He was the beloved husband of Gail Chalmers (née Gowing); and dear father of Dawn (John) Mawhinney, of Kincardine; and Jeff (Debora), of R.R. 4, Ripley. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Darby and Larissa.

Loved brother of Jim (Joan) Chalmers, of Blyth; Dave Chalmers, of Wallaceburg; Richard Chalmers, of Goderich; and Mary (Ken) Phillips, of R.R. 3, Lucknow.

Also sadly missed by his mother-in-law, Helen Gowing, of Blyth; and sisters-in-law: Glenna (Ross) Pannabecker, of R.R. 5, Goderich; Carol (Bob) Mommersteeg, of Bayfield; and Kim (Bill) Stride, of Breslau.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 7-9 p.m., where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009, with Rev. Diane Dier officiating.

A Masonic Service was held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 by Blyth Lodge 303.

Interment Blyth Union Cemetery.

Jo-Anne Elizabeth (Matheson)

Sept. 9, 1952 – May 23, 2009

Age 56 years

Passed away in the Grey Bruce Health Centre, Owen Sound.

Beloved wife of Dennis Solomon, Chatsworth area.

Mother of Dennis, of Kelowna, B.C.; and Sarah, of Toronto. Much loved grandmother of five-year-old Cloe Solomon.

Loved daughter of Ruth E. Matheson, of Tiverton, ON. Loved sister of Kathryn, of Vancouver, B.C.; Sandra, of Shelburne, ON; Suzanne, of Nevada, USA; and John and his wife Suzanne, of Owen Sound, ON.

Loved aunt of Andrew Matheson and MacKenzie and Grace Matheson. Sister-in-law of Diane (Solomon) and Peter Birkemoe and family, of Toronto.

Joanne was born in Welland, ON, first child of John and Ruth (Bradley) Matheson. She attended public school in Tiverton, and high school in Kincardine and Walkerton. She worked summers for Dr. George Wathke at his veterinary clinic in Port Elgin. Moving to Kitchener, she worked at a small animal clinic before moving on to Canada Post as a letter carrier. She was a piper in the Bruce County Junior Pipe Band, attending Expo Montreal in 1967. She was a lover of animals, books and people.

She was predeceased by her brother Robert (Robbie), age 24, in 1980; and her father John in 2005.

A service as held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, in Chatsworth, ON.

Cremation has taken place.

LAETITIA “TESS” HARDIE

Laetitia "Tess" Hardie (née Grenier), of Kincardine,died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in her 76th year. 

Beloved wife of Bill Hardie. Dear mother of Julie Farmer, Ken (Suzanne) Martens, Tony Farmer, Kathy Farmer, Fleur Farmer and Jane (Robert) Cater . Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren. 

Predeceased by her son John Farmer, three sisters and two brothers.

Tess worked at the Kincardine and District General Hospital for 29 years, the last 27 years as a Physio Aid. 

The memorial service will be held at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, with Rev. Susan Samuel officiating.

JEAN KLINSKI

Jean (McRitchie) Klinski passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in Warren, Michigan, U.S.A., in her 90th year.

She was the daughter of Dan McRitchie, who was a blacksmith in Kincardine for many years, and Annie Munro.

After working for several years at the Kincardine Circle Bar Knitting Company, Jean moved to Windsor in the 1940s. While there, she met and married “Chet” (Chester) Klinski, of Detroit. They lived for some time near downtown Detroit before moving to suburban Warren. Chet was employed at the Chrysler assembly plant and Jean worked for a financial firm in Detroit before retiring.

She was predeceased by her husband, and by her brother Jack McRitchie.

Following cremation, her ashes will be buried beside Chet’s in the Kincardine cemetery.

 

 

 

JOHN “JACK” McINTYRE

John William "Jack" McIntyre, of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre -Kincardine on Sunday, January 25, 2009, at age 90. 

Loving father of Jill (Steve) Blackwell, of Ottawa; Joanna McIntyre, of Toronto; John (Linda) McIntyre, of Brampton;  and Jan (Gord) Johnstone, of Kincardine. 

Dear grandfather of Alex Johnstone (David Roberts), Jalene Johnstone, Dan and Andy Blackwell, and Andrea and Shannon McIntyre. Lovingly remembered by his favourite niece Pat Kaplanis.  Predeceased by his wife Jean (née Dodds), granddaughter Emma Johnstone, brother Art McIntyre, and sister Cora Sanders. 

A memorial service will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, with Rev. Dr. Lark Kim officiating.

PHYLLIS RIVETT

Phyllis Rivett (Gibson), formerly of Lucknow and Point Clark, passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the age of 74. 

Phyllis was born in Ashfield Township on Nov. 4, 1934 to the late Marshall Gibson and Grace Young.

Beloved wife of the late Norman Rivett.

Missed by her children: Brian (Kathy) Rivett, of Lurgan Beach; and Linda (Doug) LeLacheur, of Mount Brydges. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Daryl (Amanda) LeLacheur, Dale LeLacheur, and Kara and Brandon Rivett.

Also survived by siblings: Bill (Kathy) Gibson, of Whitechurch; Shirley (Don) Smith, of London; and Allan (Nancy) Gibson, Donnie (Dianne) Gibson, Beatrice Madge, and Jim (Eleanor) Gibson, all of Lucknow

Predeceased by her brother-in-law George Madge. 

The funeral service was held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009, with visitation for one hour prior. Rev. C. Harvey officiated.  

Interment Lurgan Cemetery.
