SYLVIA EMMERTON

Sylvia May Emmerton (née Jackson) of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in her 92nd year.

Beloved wife of the late Stan Emmerton.

Dear mother of Cheryl (Ron) McKee of London. Loved grandmother of Brooke McKee-Bass (Seth Bass) of New Jersey and Carla McKee (Neil Ewart) of London and great-grandmother of Jonah and Noa Bass and Quinn and Jax Ewart.

Predeceased by her sister Edna McLean, brothers-in-law Edwin, Joseph, Gordon, Allan and Herbert Emmerton and sisters-in-law Frances Walsh, Elizabeth Geddes, Edna Wilken and Annie Maurer.

Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine, on Friday, March 4, 2016. The funeral service was held in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating.

Spring interment Kincardine Cemetery.

EUGENE HARRISON

Eugene Harrison of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in his 90th year.

Beloved husband of Jean Harrison (née Lamont).

Dear father of Joanne Prokop of St. Catharines, Karen (Roland) Egilson of Penticton, B.C. and Dale (Annie) Harrison of Kerrville, Texas. Loved grandpa of Zach Prokop and Chelan Egilson.  Predeceased by his brothers: Roy (Edna), Jack (Hilda), Bill (Peg) and Lorne Harrison, and by his sisters: Marg (Charlie) Merritt and Helen Buckingham.

Survived by his sisters-in-law: Tess Harrison of Dorchester, Norma Harrison of London, Mary Ann (Gerald Kemple of Riversdale and Helen (Joe) Brick of St. Clements and by his brothers-in-law: Clifford Buckingham of Kincardine, Donny (Joan) Lamont and Allan (Wendy) Lamont, all of Riversdale, and by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sisters-in-law Grace (Jerry) Spicer, Dorothy (Wally) Forsyth and Liz (Gordie) Spark.

Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine on Saturday, March 5, 2016, and on Sunday, March 6, 2016, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jim Weir officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jim and Jeff Harrison, Terry Kempel, Kevin Stewart, Derrick Burrows and Evan Wise.

Interment Kincardine Cemetery.

JACK HOLMES

John “Jack” Albert Holmes of Kincardine passed away at home with his family by his side on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in his 81st year.

Predeceased by his wife Kathleen “Kay”.

Dear father of Cliff of Sudbury, Valerie (Andrew) Stopford of Kincardine and Ken (Lisa) of Kingston.

Loved grandpa of Nichole, Robert, Jessica, Mike, Mark, Steven and Melissa. Cherished great-grandpa of Ethan, Jase, Arizona and Xander.

Survived by his siblings Harriet (Bill) Green of Chatham, Don (Kathy) of Chatham and Rick (Ann) of Noelville.

After 23 years at Case in Toronto and Essex, Jack came to Kincardine in 1980 to work at Doupe’s Equipment; 11 years later Jack joined Stanley’s Farm Equipment and retired 14 years later.

Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine on Thursday, March 3, 2016. The funeral service was held in the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016, with Pastor Peter Stopford officiating.
