Series all even, Game 5 tonight in town

Local playoff update

The Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs and Mount Forest Patriots are all even at 2-2.

The Patriots tied up the Western Junior C semi-final series with a 4-2 win last night at home. The Pats had their laptop computer stolen from the arena during last night's game, so no details were available via the PointStreak websites as per usual.

The Bulldogs took the first two games of this series, but the Pats have battled back. This series is now a best two-of-three, with Game 5 tonight at 8 p.m., Game 6 tomorrow (Saturday) at 8 p.m. in Mount Forest. A potential Game 7 would be played at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.

The other semi-final series resumes tonight in Walkerton. The first place Hawks hold a 3-1 edge in that series after Mitchell squeaked out a 4-3 win in Game 4 at home Tuesday night.


The Ripley Wolves will meet Shelburne in a WOAA Senior A semi-final series. The other series will feature two teams from the North - Milverton and Tillsonburg. The round robin playoffs eliminated the Lucknow Lancers.

Game 1 of the Wolves - Fish series will go tonight (Friday) in Ripley at 8:30 p.m. The teams will play Game 2 in Shelburne Saturday night at 8 p.m. Game 3 is Friday, March 4 in Ripley and Game 4 is the following night in Shelburne. If necessary, Games 5 and 6 will be played March 11 and 12. No date has been set for a potential seventh game.


The two division finals will kick off this weekend.

Mapleton-Minto will have home ice advantage against the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks in the North Division final, and will host Game 1 of the series tonight (Friday) in Palmerston at 8:30 p.m.

Game 2 will be played Saturday night in Port Elgin. Games 3 and 4 are scheduled for the following weekend.

The South Divsion finals will feature the Clinton Radars and the Petrolia Squires. That series will open this evening (Friday) in Clinton at 8:30 p.m. Petrolia will host Game 2 Saturday night. The series will then resume the following weekend.


The Kincardine Miller Insurance midget Kinucks will have their hands full in the OMHA midget B semi-finals with the undefeated Ennismore Eagles.

The provincial semi-final series will open on Saturday afternoon in Ennismore. Game 1 will start at 4 p.m. The teams will then meet Sunday afternoon - either in Kincardine or Tiverton. If the Bulldogs and Patriots require a Game 7, then the teams will play in Tiverton. Should Kincardine knock off the Pats in six games or less, then Game 2 of the midget series will be played at the Davidson Centre.

Game 3 is back in Ennismore March 4. If necessary, Games 4, 5 and 6 will be in played March 5, 6 and 8.


The Kincardine Canadian Tire atom Kinucks and Elmvale played to a 3-3 draw in the OMHA atom B semi-final series opener last weekend in Elmvale.

That means the teams are even with one point each going into Game 2 of this series Saturday in Kincardine. The puck drops at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday at the Davidson Centre. Game 3 will be Sunday in Elmvale at 2:25 p.m., with Game 4 scheduled for March 4 in Kincardine.
