ROBERT ABRA

Robert (Bob) John Abra took his last flight Jan. 3, 2016, age 85 years.

Resident of Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence, Stratford, Ontario and formerly from Kincardine, Ontario. Born in Owen Sound, son of the late Frank and Violet (Briggs) Epplett. Retired after 30 years of service as staff sergeant and helicopter pilot with the Ontario Provincial Police. Robert served in the RCAF in Summerside, PEI, where he met the love of his life Marion Morrison, who predeceased him in 2013. Robert will be remembered by his sister Pat Bolton (Lorne) and his brother Rick Epplett (Lynne) and nieces and nephews, Dana Koperski (John), Rob Bolton (Tracey), Lisa (Dean) and Katie (Andrew).

He was an avid sportsman and spent every morning on a walk through the Kincardine trails. Friends and family were invited to the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, ON, for a memorial service on Thursday, Jan, 7, 2016, at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.

WESLEY GIESZ

Wesley “Wes” Rosswell Giesz of Kincardine passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, in his 97th year.

Missed by his good friends Gordon and Mary McGarvey. Predeceased by his brothers Percy Giesz and Maurice (Gladys) Giesz. He will be missed by many cousins and close friends.

A memorial service will take place at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Harry, officiating. Spring interment, Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin. Memorial donations to Kincardine Hospital Foundation or the Kincardine United Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

TERRY HUNTER 

Terry Robert Hunter of Kincardine passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, in his 60th year.

Dear father of Jenny Hunter (Mike Caswell) of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Blake Hunter (Brandy Prentice) of Oshawa. Beloved son of Robert “Bob” and Sheila (Norman) Hunter of Kincardine. Loved brother of Deborah Lajoie (Kevin Wood) of Trenton. Sadly missed by his nephew Craig Lajoie of Trenton and his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Jim Weir officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jason Craig, Andy McNevin, Harry Courtney, Russell LaViolette, Justin Stewart and Ross Norman.  Flowerbearers were Meaghan Daniel and Terri McNevin. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery.

RENEE LAMONT-WYLDS

Renee Lamont-Wylds, peacefully at home in Kincardine in the arms of her family on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, in her 40th year. Loving wife of Scott Wylds. Very proud and loving mom of Carter and Carson. Beloved daughter of Gord and Sharon Lamont. Loving sister of Lori and her husband Chris Coughlin. Dear daughter-in-law of Brian and Pam Wylds.  Dear sister-in-law of Angela and her husband Chris Boyd. Loving aunt of Cameron, Taylor, Mia, and Lilly. Beloved niece of Lois and her husband Lyle Osborn.

The family would like to thank the many health care providers for all of their love and support over the past two years.

A celebration of Renee’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at the Kincardine Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, 219 Lambton Street, Kincardine.

MARY MACKAY

Mary Doreen MacKay of Trillium Court, Kincardine passed away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, in her 75th year.

Mary was born June 17, 1941, in Kincardine. Survived by her son Vince Cascone and his wife Anna of Inverhuron, grandchildren Vincent and Michael Cascone, as well as her great-grand-daughter Sophia Maria Cascone. Loved sister of Sheila (Callum) MacKay of Scotland, John (Gaye) MacKay of Burlington and Ken (Judy) MacKay of Campbellville. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Angus and Irene MacKay.

A private family service will be held in the spring. Interment Tiverton Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Edith Gladys Smith (née Burrows) of Kincardine passed away peacefully at Trillium Court, Kincardine on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, in her 96th year.

Beloved wife of the late Elmer Henry Smith (1990). Loving mother of Brian (Kim) Smith of Kincardine. Missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her sisters Olga Venard, Mary Daer, brothers George Burrows and Lindsay Burrows.
