The South Bruce OPP is investigating after two businesses on Queen Street in Kincardine were broken into last month.

According to Const. Kevin Martin, WeeKins and Bean’s Bistro were both entered sometime overnight between Oct. 16 and 17. Thieves gained access to Bean’s Bistro by breaking a front window. Canadian and foreign bills and coins were taken, along with a 26-ounce bottle of Smirnoff Vodka and several blank gift certificates. The total value of stolen items is $600.

The back door to WeeKins was forced open the same night and a quantity of coins was taken.

Police are looking for any information that could assist them in solving the crimes.

“Theft is a crime of opportunity that you can help to control,” said Martin. “Suspicious people and suspicious vehicles need to be reported to police as soon as possible so that an officer can investigate.”

Anyone with information can call the police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
