Orland Leslie Leggett, of Tiverton, died after a brief but courageous battle against cancer, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in his 68th year. 

Beloved husband of Lillian Leggett (née Todd). 

Dear father of Leslie (Ken) Ferguson, of Bowmanville; and Vicky (Michael) Quipp, of Tiverton. Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Jordan and Brittany Quipp, and Drew and Logan Ferguson. 

Loved brother of Ron (Helen) Leggett, of London; and LeRoy (Marsha) Leggett, of Kincardine Township. Cherished son-in-law of Clara Todd, of Tiverton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Mary (Cottrill) Leggett; brother Ralph Leggett; father-in-law Murray Todd; and sister-in-law Susan Bell. 

Orland was a volunteer firefighter with the Tiverton and District Fire Department for more than 25 years, serving as chief for 19 years. He was passionate about many things, and loved the time spent in his workshop at the trailer, hunting and fishing. Orland was a familiar face at hockey arenas, both close to home and far away, as he followed his grandchildren's teams. Together, Orland and Lillian travelled from coast to coast of his beloved Canada, trailer in tow.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home (757 Princes Street, Kincardine, ON N2Z 1Z5, 519-396-2701) from 2-4  and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009. The funeral service was held in the chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, with Rev. Susan Samuel and Rev. Ruth MacLean officiating.  Interment Tiverton Cemetery
