Teenager doubles the speed limit

A 17-year-old male from Huron-Kinloss Twp. is facing a charge of racing a motor vehicle after he was clocked at double the speed limit at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 20.

A South-Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Concession 2 in Huron Twp. notice a grey Toyota Corolla moving at a high rate of speed. That speed was displayed on RADAR at more than 160 km/hr in a posted 80km/hr zone.

He wasn't the only one moving quickly. On Aug. 15, police charged a 25-year-old from Truto, Nova Scotia after clocking them at 133 km/hr in a posted 80km/hr zone on Highway 21 near Kintail.

In other police news, the South-Bruce OPP doled out a three-day license suspension after stopping a red Pontiac Grand-Am just before 9 p.m. Aug. 20. The officer found the driver had been drinking, and the driver registered a warn range result at roadside screening.
