SIU called in after Kincardine incident

The Ontario Provincial Police has notified the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), which has invoked its mandate and will be examining a Friday night incident in Kincardine.

Members of the South-Bruce OPP responded to a disturbance call on Queen St., in Kincardine at 9:10 p.m. Friday night. Upon arrival, police were confronted by an armed female. Police were able to successfully apprehend the suspect, who was subsequently arrested under the Mental Health Act and taken to a local hospital, where she was admitted.

On Monday, the OPP was notified of allegations of injury sustained by the female during the altercation with police. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
