The new splash pad at Lions Park could be operational as early as next week, if the weather holds out.

That's the word from the Kincardine and District Lions Club on Monday. John McManus told The Independent that the pad is installed, commissioning tests are complete and staff have been trained. Work remaining includes landscaping and the installation of a concrete sidewalk and fencing.

"If the weather holds, we'll get the water flowing for the kids in seven to 10 days or so," McManus said.

Anyone interested in donating to the project can purchase bricks and paving stones that will be incorporated around teh splash pad by visiting the Lions CLub website at www.kincardinelions.ca or by calling the Davidson Centre.
