Do-or-die for the 'Dogs -again

Game 6 tonight in Kincardine

The Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs will once again have their backs to the walls tonight in the Western Junior C semi-finals.

The Wingham Ironmen hold a 3-2 series lead on Kincardine heading into tonight's (Friday) Game 6 at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. The puck drops at 8:30 p.m. at the Davidson Centre.

Kincardine is coming off a big 2-1 overtime win Wednesday night in Game 5. Gerrit Satosek scored the winner midway through the first OT period to stave off elimination and force night's Game 6. If Kincardine can win tonight, a seventh and deciding game will be played tomorrow night (Saturday) at the Wescast Community Complext in Wingham.

While Kincardine and Wingham battle it out, the Walkerton Hawks wait and watch. The Hawks finished off the Hanover Barons in five games to be the first team to advance to the Western League playoff final. Walkerton was defeated by the Ironmen in last year's league final.

While it may be stating the obvious, Ben Nelson will start in goal for the Ironmen tonight, while the Bulldogs will counter with Mitch Campbell. Both starters have been sharp in this series, with Nelson posting shutouts in Games 1 and 4. Interestingly enough, Kincardine's wins in this series have both come on the road - the 'Dogs claimed Games 2 and 5 in Wingham.
