Sam Feagan scored at 12:29 of overtime last night to lift the Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs to a 2-1 win over Mount Forest and a 4-2 series win in the Western Junior C quarter-finals.

Game 6, last night in Mount Forest, was tied 1-1 after regulation as the teams traded second period goals four minutes apart. Chad Simpson scored for the 'Dogs, and four minutes later Luke Richardson replied for the Patriots.

The Bulldogs sent 52 shots at Mount Forest goalie John Nixon before Feagan's goal clinched the series. Meanwhile, Mitch Campbell stopped 47 of 47 Mount Forest shots at the other end.

Kincardine will now face Wingham in a semi-final series. The Ironmen will be well-rested after a first round bye for finishing first overall in the regular season. The other semi-final will feature the Walkerton Hawks and the Hanover Barons. The Barons swept Goderich in four straight games, while Walkerton finished off Mitchell last night at home with a 6-3 win in Game 5 of that series.

Schedules for the semi-finals have yet to be worked out. For full details, don't miss next week's print edition of The Kincardine Independent.
