Both Kincardine rinks used home ice to their advantage last Wednesday night at Major League Curling made a stop at the Kincardine Curling Club.

Four games were played in town, despite some nasty weather on Wednesday. All four games scheduled were played, as well as three other games in Tara.

Les Shane's BDO Canada rink edged out Wade Walsh in a 9-8 shootout, while Craig Milburn squeaked past AJ Schumacher's rink in a 6-5 decision. That leaves both the Shane rink and the Milburn rink with 2-1 records after three weeks of action. That leaves them tied with three other teams for third place in Major League Curling. Two teams remain undefeated - Al Hutchinson's Bluewater Curling Club rink and Jeff Thomson's rink from Chesley.

Thomson was also in Kincardine Wednesday night, dumping Dave Cobean by a 9-3 score. The remaining draw at the Kincardine Curling Club saw Curtis Cassidy defeat Steve Gregg 8-3. Meanwhile in Tara, Hutchinson doubled up Joe Rettinger 8-4. Don Bartley beat Tom Slumskie 8-2 and Scott Ballantyne picked up a 7-3 win over Hanover's Les Shane in the other Tara games.

Tonight (Wednesday), Milburn will be in action in Port Elgin, while Shane will travel to Tara for a game against Ballantyne. Milburn's McNain Communications rink will take on Hutchinson's first place rink in Port. Draws in both centres begin at 9 p.m.
