New candidates vie for council seats

There are some new names in the race for Kincardine council.

 

Richard Court added his name to the ballot last week, running for Ward 1 councillor. Alex Eveleigh of RR2 Tiverton is running for one of four councillor-at-large seats.

 

Jacqueline Faubert, who currently represents Ward 1, has filed her nomination papers to run for councillor-at-large.

 

Others who have put their names forward for the next term of Kincardine council are Anne Eadie and Marsha Leggett, who are running for mayor; Maureen Couture, who is running for Ward 1 councillor; Randy Roppel, who is running for Ward 3 councillor; Jutta Splettstoesser and Linda McKee, who are running for Ward 2 councillor; and :aura Haight, Gordon Campbell and Christina Wahi, who are running for councillors-at-large.

 

Individuals have until Sept. 12 to file nomination papers at the Kincardine municipal administration centre. The municipal election will be held Oct. 27.
