Pedestrian caught up at RIDE check

You don't have to drive through a RIDE checkpoint to end up with charges.

A 28-year-old Toronto man learned a little about common sense on Aug. 2, the night of the Beach Dance at Station Beach in Kincardine. At 11:32 p.m., members of the South-Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint on Huron Terrace when they saw a man walking along the side of the road with a styrofoam cup in his hand. Officers found that there was alcohol in the cup.

The man was charged with open alcohol other than residence.
