Marine Unit “saves the day”

The South-Bruce OPP Marine Unit was patrolling the waters of Lake Huron last Sunday, July 20.

They stopped to inspect a blue Bayliner V-Hull, and discovered the vessel was lacking some of the required safety equipment. The operator, a 31-year-old man from Elmira, was charged under the Canada Shipping Act - small vessel regulations for the violation.

Required safety equipment for boats, sail boats and personal watercraft can be found at Operators are encouraged to ensure their vessel is properly equipped each time they leave the dock.
