Firearms stolen in break-in

A number of long guns and hand guns are now on the street after a Kinloss Twp. break-and-enter last Thursday.

At 11:46 p.m. on July 17, the South-Bruce OPP received a report of a break-in at a residence in the 300 block of Grey Ox Ave. in Kinloss Twp. Sometime between 10 a.m. on July 17 and 11:30 p.m. the same day, the home and detached garage were forcibly entered.

Among the stolen property is a quantity of long guns, a quantity of hand guns and a quantity of ammunition. Police did not specify how many guns were taken, but did say the serial numbers are on file with police. Also reported stolen were a number of power tools including a Husqvarna chainsaw and a Poulin chainsaw, a 32" RCA LCD TV, a 40" Sony LCD TV and a number of blue-ray DVDs. An estimate of the value of the stolen property was not made available by police.

The OPP Forensic Identification Unit is assisting the South-Bruce OPP with this investigation. Police remind the public that suspicious vehicles and people should be reported to police immediately so officers can investigate.
