The South-Bruce OPP is still trying to track down the driver involved in a June 26 crash that seriously injured a local man.

Arnie Clifford, who was cycling on Concession 12, Huron Twp. just before 9 p.m. on June 26, continues to recover in hospital while police appealed to the public hoping to find witnesses to the crash.

Police were called to the crash scene at 8:57 p.m., and upon arrival discovered the involved vehicle was not at the scene. Clifford was airlifted to hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Police initially said they were looking for the driver of a transport truck with a trailer. With help from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit, they have narrowed down the suspect vehicle.

Police said last week they were looking to speak with the driver of an International Eagle, straight truck or transport truck. They said the truck would have damage around the passenger side headlight, and the driver may not be aware of the crash.

Police request anyone who might have seen the crash, or anyone who could assist with information contact police at 1-888-310-1122. If you want to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you could be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
