FRANCES KEIL

Frances Mary Keil (née Jesperson) passed away Feb. 23, 2009 at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine, in her 87th year.

Beloved wife of the late Howard Cowan and George Keil.

Sadly missed by children Glen (Carol) Cowan, of Tiverton; Lynn (Ron) Nicholson, of Ripley; and Kim (Debbie) Cowan, of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren: Tiffany (Mark) Price, Christina (Ted) Kalchos, Michael (Diane) Nicholson, Joshua (Heather) Cowan, and Jordan Cowan; and by great-grandchildren Anne and Joshua Price; Linnea and Noland Kalchos; and Angela, Tasha and Cameron Nicholson.

Survived by brothers Les (Betty) Jesperson, of Yakima, Washington, USA; Russ (Doreen) Jesperson, of Chilliwack, B.C.; Allen (Anne) Jesperson, of Chilliwack, B.C.; and Ivan (Molly) Jesperson, of Victoria, B.C.

Also missed by step-daughters: Carol Barkley and Patricia (Larry) Foord, as well as by several nieces and nephews and by her special friend Ken Webster.

Predeceased by her parents Arthur Jesperson and Florence Unsworth, and sister Evelyne Zajic.

The funeral service was held from the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Little Mountain Cemetery, Chilliwack, B.C.

 KEVIN MCGILLIS

Kevin Charles "Chuck" McGillis, died quietly at home in Kincardine, on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, just shy of  his 83rd birthday. 

Beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. 

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. 

If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or S.P.C.A. - Huronia and District would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

JANET McINTYRE

Janet Sutherland McIntyre (née Reid), of Kincardine, died at Grey-Bruce Health Services - Southampton, on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, in her 87th year.

Beloved wife of the late Wilfred McIntyre.

Dear mother of Margaret (Gord) Ward, of Meaford; Gord (Sandra) McIntyre, of Olds, Alberta; June (Terry) Paquette, of Ripley; Jean (Dennis) McLeod, of Mount Forest; and Shirley Marcotte, of Kincardine.

Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her son Angus McIntyre; sister Jean; brother Bill; and parents, Gavin and Margaret (Sutherland) Reid.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Kincardine Cemetery, with Rev. Diane Dier officiating.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

JESSIE ROBINSON

Jessie Norma Robinson (née MacArthur), of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine, on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in her 103rd year. 

Jessie was born April 27, 1906 in Kincardine Township.

Beloved wife of the late Orville Robinson. 

Dear mother of Ann (Keith) Pladsen, of Kincardine. Cherished nana of Kathy (Brent) Parks, Tom (Wanda) Pladsen, Doug (Ellen) Pladsen, Ken (Joanne) Collins, Debbie Johnston (Roger Sutter) and Tracey (Jason) Desjardine; and great-nana of Carolyn, Jessica, Kjell, Brenna, Connor, Nolan, Brandon, Joe, Kent, Matthew, Aaron, Maggie and Kolton. 

Predeceased by her daughter Margaret, grandson John Pladsen, son-in-law Burton Collins, sisters Isabel and Annie; brothers George and Angus and by her parents, Archibald and Mary (Norman) MacArthur.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held in the chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, with Rev. Dennis Cluley officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Ken Collins, Tom Pladsen, Doug Pladsen, Brandon Collins, Kent Johnston and Matthew Johnston

Spring interment Kincardine Cemetery.

JOHN (JACK) SPLAN

John G. (Jack) Splan died at the Woodstock General Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in his 92nd year.

Husband of the late Isabelle Splan (née Jamieson) for 66 years.

Father of Stewart, of Windsor; Doug (Lynda), of Goderich; and Janet (Kevin) Jacobs, of Woodstock. Grandfather of Sean, John, Jason and Greg Splan and Kyle Jacobs; and great grandfather of four.

Also survived by brother Bill (Evelyn) Splan, of Kincardine; nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sisters Jean Ritchie and Hilda Harrison.

Jack was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the R.C.R. from 1941-1945. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 55, Woodstock.

The funeral service was held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, from the Longworth Funeral Home in Woodstock.
