Bull Tryhards in Tiverton Saturday

Fundraiser for Tiverton Reunion

The Bull Tryhards hockey team from the radio station 94.5 The Bull will be taking on the organizers of this summer’s Tiverton Old Boys and Girls Reunion.

A full night of entertainment is planned, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Tiverton Sports Complex.

The Tryhards, anchored by the “Midwestern Madman” Jay Stevens in net, will feature Kincardine Independent reporters Kiel Edge and Josh Howald.

“The Tiverton Reunion was on our radar before we got the call to the big leagues,” said Stevens on the weekend. “This hockey game should just add to the event’s hype.”

Also playing with the Tryhards are some members of the South-Bruce OPP, and a member of the Meaford Tank Range. The Bull team will also unveil the team’s new jerseys.

The opposition will be comprised of the Tiverton Reunion organizers, plus some lucky contest winners.

The Independent's Katrina Stewart will tend goal for the Tiverton team.

“If it’s worth doing, it’s ‘over-doing’,” said Stevens. “That’s exactly what the event’s organizers have done, and we’re just honoured to be part of such a momentous celebration. Plus, we have some Christmas weight to shed before beach season.”

The show doesn’t end when the game does. If watching the Tryhards wasn’t funny enough, Tiverton’s own James Ramage will provide his comedy stylings for the crowd.

After Ramage’s performance, a karaoke dance at the community centre will run from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m.

“If you ask any of The Bull’s staff, our motto is Everybody Wang Chung tonight,” said Stevens of the dance.

Admission is $8 for youth 18 and under, and $15 for those 19+. That price includes tickets to the game, Ramage’s performance and the karaoke dance.
