Walkerton and Wingham in Western final

It came to an end in overtime of Game 6 on Sunday.

Drew Davidson's OT goal ended the season for the Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs, and moved the Walkerton Hawks into position to defend the Western Junior C League crown.

Playoff games shouldn't end with 8-7 scores. Yet, ridiculously, three of the six games in this Western Junior C League semi-final series ended just that way. The Hawks were on the winning end of all three, two of them decided in extra time. This series couldn't have ended soon enough for the Hawks, who at one point held a 3-0 series lead.

Walkerton will now face the Wingham Ironmen for the Westrern Junior C League championship.

The Ironmen are coming off an easy four-game sweep of the Hanover Barons.

A schedule has not been set for the finals, but when it is you''ll be able to find it here.

Kincardine climbed out of a 3-0 hole with two big wins on the weekend prior to Sunday's heartbreaking loss. For the full story, don't miss this week's print edition of The Kincardine Independent, available in stores now.
