Man killed in Highway 9 crash

A 66-year-old Kincardine Twp. man was killed in a two-car crash on Highway 9 Saturday afternoon.

The South-Bruce OPP responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Highway 9 and Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Twp. at 4:31 p.m. Saturday. Officers arrived on the scene and learned a Chevrolet Blazer had been headed west on Highway 9 when it collided with a blue International 80S Transport truck headed north on Bruce County Road 3.

The driver of the Blazer, Eldon Colwell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have been assisting the South-Bruce OPP with the crash investigation, which is ongoing. Highway 9 was closed for several hours while investigators worked at the scene.
