For the first time since 2008, the Walkerton Hawks will not finish first overall in the Western Junior C League regular season standings.

That honour will go to the Wingham Ironmen, who clinched first place with a 4-3 win over the Hanover Barons on Sunday evening. The win moved the Ironmen to 25-6-3 on the season with two games left. The Walkerton Hawks are 22-6-5 for 49 points, and cannot catch up to the Ironmen. Both teams will get first round byes in the playoffs,  however.

The only race left now worth watching is the one for third place overall. Mount Forest (17-13-3) is currently in third spot, one point ahead of the Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs (17-14-2). Both teams have two games left. Mount Forest will play Walkerton twice - once tonight at home and Friday night in Walkerton, while Kincardine will host Wingham tonight (Wednesday) and travel to Mitchell Friday night.

*Update: Both of tonight's Junior C games have been postponed due to weather conditions. Walkerton and Mount Forest have recscheduled for Saturday night, while the "Dogs and Ironmen will play tonight's scheduled game tomorrow night at the Davidson Centre at 8 p.m..

The third place team will get the Hanover Barons (7-25-3) in the opening round of the playoffs, while the fourth place team will face off against the Mitchell Hawks (13-17-4).
