A 22-year-old Arran-Elderslie man is facing numerous charges after running amok at the Walkerton Court House last week.
At 3:17 p.m. on Jan. 9, OPP officers were called to the Walkerton Court House and arrived to find a male prisoner hollering and refusing to comply with court staff instructions. South-Bruce OPP officers tasked with removing the man from the court room ended up in a struggle, during which pepper spray was used to gain control. Two officers were treated and released from hospital for injuries they received during the incident.
The man was charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault, two counts of uttering threats, three counts of failure to comply with probation. He was being held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing.
